Join pro-democracy Americans across the Hill Country for the NO KINGS PROTEST on October 18 at 10 am at the Lake Marble Falls Pedestrian Bridge (Hwy 281). It’s predicted to be the largest mass demonstration yet in American history. We’re showing Trump and the world America has no kings and power belongs to the people. This is a non-violent protest!

We hope to fill both sides of the Lake Marble Falls Pedestrian Bridge. Pick whichever side works best for you:

East side - Backside of Simply Pho House parking lot, 101 US 281, MF
West side - Chili’s parking lot, 700 First St. MF

We’ll meet up beginning at 9:30 am.

Bring some water, wear comfy shoes, and come ready to add your voice with the crowd of true patriots. No sign? We have banners you can carry. Bring 5 friends with you and come have fun!!!

What if your friends support the NO KINGS PROTEST but are unable to walk across the bridge? Ask them to simply drive across the bridge honking and cheering in support. That sends a message to our activists and to other drivers.

#NoKingsMarbleFalls

This event is supported by: Burnet County Democratic Club, Burnet County Democratic Party, & Highland Lakes Democratic Women

MARCH 27 MEETING

Suzette Baker, fired Kingsland Librarian, spoke at the Highland Lakes Democratic Meeting last Thursday, March 27, at the Marble Falls Senior Center. She revealed the $225,000 settlement she received from Llano County in a wrongful termination lawsuit she filed last year. Suzette was fired for refusing to remove books deemed controversial by the Llano county & library leaders. Many of the books contained racial & LGBTQ+ themes. She has been celebrated by the Texas Library Association and was featured in a documentary titled "The Librarians" which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and South by Southwest.
Picture
One of the banned books was All Boys Aren’t Blue, a young adult memoir of a black, LGBTQ+ boy who was bullied.
